Peacock Spider Fur Grooming Tutorial

This tutorial is for those that want to learn Houdini's powerful hair and fur creation and styling tools.
Not the most conventional hair tutorial when it comes to subject matter, but covers most tools and approaches to what Houdini has to offer in this domain.
There is great beauty and complexity to the look of these little arachnids, and that is what inspired me to give Lookdev on this character a try, and also make it into a tutorial. I offer you about 7 and a half hours of narrated video split up in chapters.

We will go through references and some background about jumping spiders and their fur patterns, some planning and approach tactics at first. The actual grooming will go through the different sections to be worked on for the bulk of the tutorial, and there is a chapter in the end dedicated to groom transfer between characters, or animated caches. In the project files you will get the Houdini scene, textures and 3d models of the spider in a few poses, so you can rebuild the character yourselves.
