(MUST Have at least Unreal 5.4!)
As a big fan of Medieval Fantasy, learning to make Slash trail VFX was one of the first things I tried learning when I moved to Unreal-5. Of course, I had no idea how difficult that task really was until I hit multiple walls trying to create them. And, further more realizing that there were different types and the implementation for them was also extremely difficult to understand at first. This product was designed to simplify that burden and provide base materials for sword slash effects that could easily be modified or adjusted to suit your needs. There are three types of materials in this pack. 1: Body based trails which are directly attached to your character which I have found to be most useful for punches and kicking. 2: Weapon based trails where the trail is generated by the weapon itself instead of the body. And, 3: Sword Slash Disk type trails which are created more like traditional VFX Niagara particles.
Each of these materials has their corresponding textures organized into files, and as a bonus help-tool I've also gone in and included a test character with dummy blueprints for each effect showing you how they work in case you want to reverse engineer and learn how they are applied yourself. This product is specifically just providing you with the materials I use for my own slash FX, but I felt he blueprints would be very useful as learning materials for you, so I included them anyway. It took me months to figure this stuff out even with help from my incredible community, so hopefully with everything organized and demonstrated for you here, it wont take you as long to get the hang of it, and you'll quickly be on your way to make your sword slashes "Kool" - Regardless, I wish you the best of luck, and as always hope you have a Fantastic Day :)
