Houdini's Extract Transform SOP works great—if both meshes have identical topology. The moment they diverge, you're stuck manually rotating, scaling, and positioning each element. Fine for five objects. Agony for five hundred.
Solution
Transform Match extracts the full transformation—position, rotation, and non-uniform scale—between two meshes of any topology.
Feed it a reference mesh and a target mesh, and it outputs a point cloud with correct placement, orientation, and scale baked in. Drop that point cloud on a copy to points node, and you're done.
Use cases
Kitbash assembly: matching hero assets to low-poly proxies or scattered placeholders
Asset replacement pipelines: swapping LODs or variants while preserving alignment
Procedural layouts: aligning hero meshes to procedurally generated bounding volumes
Any workflow where "match this to that" currently means manual rotation and scaling
