Ship Hull Base Material ( FREE Version )
Great for texturing your spaceships, buildings and other scifi models.
You get the following content in this package:
- Ship_Hull_Base_v2.1.sbsar
- 9 Individual textures
- 3 Original packed maps ( which contain all 9 textures ) @ 550 KB Total file size for them all !
- 3 Updated packed maps ( Which contain all 9 textures ) @ 617 KB Total file size for them all !
Of those textures:
- The main material textures are 2K
- The panel masks and grunge maps are all 1K
- The sbsar allows projection multipliers as all substances do
This may seem a little low at first glance but it is designed to be used with triplanar or box projection with a multiplier of around 2 or 4 which bump up the effective resolution to 4k or 8k respectively, of course it will ultimately depend on the scale of your models so you will need to see what's right for you. If you check out my portfolio ( where I use a x4 multiplier ) - you can see for yourself how well this works.
This is the base material from my no bake workflow as seen HERE and here HERE both of which give you an overview of what this product was designed for and how I intended it to be used.
For transparency: This will not give you the exact same results as those portfolio pieces with this package alone - Those images you see on my portfolio do use this material, but they use it as a base material only, a first layer of paint if you like. All the real magic happens within the shader itself, well that and the lighting of course :)
I also made a portfolio post for this material alone so you can use the interactive viewer - Just remember thats just the 2K version without any projection multipliers ( artstation still doesnt allow marmoset viewer on the store products ) So you can play with that HERE
If you are interested in getting your hands on the substance designer graphs used in the creation of the base material you can purchase the unlocked sbs graphs for the base material and the damage maps together here HERE
