More Information About 3D Model :
A White Plastic Net Pot, also frequently referred to as a Growth Mesh Cup or Root Basket, is a specialized horticultural container designed exclusively for soilless cultivation systems, principally hydroponics. This apparatus serves as the primary mechanical anchor and support structure for the plant, contrasting sharply with traditional opaque containers used in soil-based agriculture.

### Definition and Nomenclature

The net pot is a cylindrical vessel characterized by a highly perforated lattice or mesh structure. Its fundamental purpose is not to hold significant quantities of rooting media (substrate), but rather to retain a minimal amount of inert material (such as expanded clay pellets, rockwool, or coco coir) while allowing the plant roots to extend freely through the numerous apertures directly into the underlying nutrient reservoir.

The nomenclature often includes specific references to the method of use:
1. **Net Pot/Mesh Cup:** Describes the physical, netted structure.
2. **Root Basket:** Emphasizes its function in containing and directing the root mass.
3. **Hydroponic/DWC:** Indicates its application context, especially prevalent in Deep Water Culture (DWC) systems where the base of the pot is suspended just above the continuously oxygenated nutrient solution.

### Material and Physical Characteristics

**Material:** These pots are typically manufactured from durable, non-reactive, and food-grade polymers, most commonly High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE) or Polypropylene (PP). This material selection ensures longevity, resistance to degradation from perpetual moisture and nutrient salts, and chemical inertness to prevent interference with the nutrient solution pH or composition.

**Coloration:** The designation "White Plastic" is functionally significant. White surfaces possess high reflectivity (high albedo), minimizing the absorption of radiant heat. In contrast to dark materials, white plastic helps regulate the temperature of the immediate root zone, reducing thermal stress on the plant and inhibiting the proliferation of heat-loving pathogens and algae within the nutrient reservoir.

**Geometric Configuration:** The pot features an integrated flange or lip at the rim, which is designed to rest securely on the opening of a reservoir lid, tube, or channel (e.g., in a DWC bucket or an Ebb and Flow tray). The base is often tapered to facilitate insertion and ensure maximum exposure of the root mass to the solution. The mesh openings are uniformly distributed and sized optimally to permit root egress without allowing excessive spillage of the contained substrate.

### Function and Application in Hydroponics

The white plastic net pot is integral to several closed-loop hydroponic systems:

1. **Deep Water Culture (DWC):** In DWC, the pot is inserted into a container lid, securing the plant while the roots penetrate the mesh and hang submerged in the aerated nutrient solution.
2. **Ebb and Flow (Flood and Drain):** The net pots are placed in the grow tray, where they are periodically flooded with solution and subsequently drained. The mesh structure ensures rapid drainage and necessary root oxygenation.
3. **Aeroponics and NFT:** While less common, smaller net pots can be used in these systems to anchor starter plugs before the root mass develops into the misting chamber (aeroponics) or the nutrient flow channel (NFT).

The primary functional benefit is the maintenance of structural stability for the seedling or clone, while simultaneously maximizing the efficiency of nutrient absorption and gaseous exchange (oxygen transfer to the roots) by ensuring direct, unobstructed contact between the roots and the aqueous nutrient medium.
