There's more than a few misconceptions about boolean operations. This mini-tutorial provides an overview of how boolean operations and modifiers can be useful for general hard surface subdivision modeling.

The modeling exercise is designed to challenge artists to explore the boolean and modifier tools available in their 3D modeling software and experiment with the process to discover what works and doesn't work in their particular application. The line drawings and order of operations covered in this tutorial can also be used to practice translating drawings to CAD models.
