9 base meshes to level up your art by focussing on the fundamentals of shape and proportion instead of worrying about the software!
These base meshes can be used in any sculpting app and are intended to be used as a reference tool.
Each mesh represents a different key shape or 'level' of the sculpt. By trying to achieve these shapes you will start learning whats really important to levelling up your artwork which is the fundamentals, not software.

Please note: The hair, clothing and fish meshes are NOT included. Textures are also not included.

Today I got a message asking why the reference images for the front and side views don't line up when used directly inside the sculpting software. This is because when I created the reference images I didn't envision them being used this way (which is my bad!). The reference images were originally rendered with an 85mm lens in Blender which adds some camera distortion. I have now re-rendered all of the images in orthographic views to remove this camera distortion. Just be aware that when using the new reference images you'll want to compare them using orthographic views (this is a more cohesive workflow anyway). I have also labelled the images inside pureref and fixed some ordering problems.
