Introduction

A collection of realistic paperback and hardback books.

Paperback range has 6 titles, made to look like crime or thriller books, in 2 slightly different variations (new and old.) 3 are designed as a trilogy.

Included are 4 sizes/proportions, see below, of course you can scale them as you wish.

There are 6 titles in the Hardback range – 3 cat books, 2 baking books and 1 dog book.

They come in 4 variations (Dust cover with fabric spine, Dust cover without fabric spine, No dust cover but with fabric spine, No dust cover or fabric spine.) The UV Maps for the hardbacks allow every title to work in any variation.

Included are 2 sizes, see below, again, you can scale them as you wish of course.

Product Info

The models were created in Blender 2.82 and the renders were done using Cycles.

Textures are PBR with Colour, Roughness and Specular Maps for the paperbacks, while the hardbacks also have normal Map

Maps are up to 4k where necessary.

The product is available as .obj and .fbx files and as a Blend file.

The .obj and .fbx include the books onluy, they do not include the background, lights or cameras. See below for Blender File information.

The book covers, including titles and descriptions are original, designed in GIMP.

All the pictures on the covers were free from unsplash.com.

The author names are the names of the photographers that took front cover pictures.

All photographers are also credited on the back of each book, with their pages on unsplash.com.

Object Info

The Books have been UV unwrapped with some minor overlapping islands.

The origins are in the middle of the edge running along the bottom of the back of the book. This should allow for easy placement standing on edge on a shelf, or face up on a table.

One hardback book contains -            1,842 verts    and    1,836 polygons

One paperback book conatains -           476 verts    and       476 polygons

Blender File

The Blend file includes the books, background, lights and camera. All textures are packed into the file.
