CGT #12: Chiaroscuro (Extreme Low Key Lighting) Tutorial

Art tutorials for the price of a cup of coffee!

This is Coffee Grind Tutorials' (CGT) twelth release. The package will focus on "chiaroscuro" a term coined by Renaissance painters to describe extreme low key, dramatic lighting. I will demonstrate its uses through a character illustration book cover. It begins with a 17 minute lecture before delving in the painting process video, ending off with a drawing challenge for you to practice the concepts exhibited throughout the tutorial.

Full features:

-17 minute lecture discussing a key art fundamental!

-26 minute process video with full commentary!

-Raw video of the painting process!

-Written summary for easy reviewing purposes!

-Photoshop file of the artwork used!

-Drawing Exercise for you to try out!

-Low resolution versions available for those with bandwidth concerns!

Please do not hesitate to comment if you have any ideas on what I should release next. I will be focusing more on explaining specific art theories in future CGTs.

Thank you!
