This book collects over 150 thoughtful questions to help you build stronger, clearer and more believable environments. Every question is designed to sharpen your eye and guide you toward better logic, storytelling, composition and detail. It is written with 3D environment artists in mind, but the principles apply just as well to 2D work.

This release is in “alpha” (v0.6). Future updates will include full detail pages for each question, with explanations and visual examples that break down the ideas step by step. The final version will also allow you to click a question and jump directly to its dedicated page.

If you buy it on ArtStation, all updates are included. Simply re-download the file any time a new version is published.

As much as I love this, it's long overdue for the content to be completed. More than 3 years have passed and this looks abandoned or will be updated annually instead which is disappointing from what was promised. Unless the updated have the full version, otherwise I will keep this rating for now.

Hey Tuong, Thanks for your patient an trust. I had some issues in previous year but I'm back at it :) I just released all the design Category pages and will work the other ones in 2026!

What's here is great, but it's unfortunate it promised more than it could deliver. There's sections that have yet to be added, three years after release. I'd love to come back and revise the rating when the rest of the content is added.

Hey Eugene, I hope you're doing great! I recently updated a new version of the pdf with a lot more information and an explanation of each of all the storytelling questions. I hope that gives you a better idea of what this will become, let me know if that's still not what you expected. Also, more pages will come soon!
