Advanced Waterfall Geometry Nodes for Blender gives environment artists separate tools for the falling water, the receiving surface and the impact effects. Follow a curve with the main waterfall, refine the flow around chosen objects and build the foam, splash rings and mist that connect it to the scene.
From the top of the cliff to the pool
A waterfall scene needs more than a moving sheet. The upper lip sets the direction, rocks interrupt the flow, and the landing point needs to agree with the water beneath it. This setup keeps those decisions editable through four main systems: Waterfall, Water Surface, Splash Rings, and Splash and Fog.
Use the included example to study the complete arrangement, then copy or append the clean standalone objects into your own scene. The native node and material dependencies accompany the objects; no product addon is required.
Curve and interaction controls
Edit the route directly in Blender. Overall Width shapes the main curtain, while curve-point radius allows local narrowing and widening. Reverse Direction, rounded-lip settings, edge and endpoint fading, waviness and surface noise refine the flow.
Assign interaction objects for surface-following, spills and cutouts. Explicit target collections let you decide which scene elements affect the result. Keep water and effect emitters outside their own target collections.
Water surface, foam and mist
The separate water surface combines layered animated normal waves with shallow/deep colour and opacity controls. Contact and shoreline foam help connect it to nearby geometry. Automatic detection and collection-based targeting provide different ways to manage contacts and depth.
Standalone splash rings and splash/fog objects provide additional impact detail. Card-based mist has contact and waterline fading, so the cutoff can be adjusted independently of emitter placement. Caustic patterns are an artistic surface effect, not physically projected caustics.
Included downloads
-
Blender and Guide: the native .blend project, example scene, standalone objects, packed image resources and a getting-started text guide.
-
Silent Demonstrations: four control recordings covering Waterfall, Water Surface, Standalone Fog and Standalone Splash Ring, plus two short previews. The four recordings total approximately 21 minutes 46 seconds.
Both licence options include the same complete download packages. Select the ArtStation licence that matches your intended use and review its terms before purchase.
Compatibility and practical use
Use Blender 5.2.2 LTS for this release. It is a native procedural geometry and shader product; earlier Blender versions have not been verified. The complete animated effect does not transfer automatically to FBX, OBJ or a game engine.
Animation and loop controls are available on the components. Match Loop Frames where needed and set the export range deliberately: the documented default loop is 240 frames, while the example timeline ends at 120. Review the sequence before final delivery.
This workflow suits artists who want to direct waterfall appearance and placement. A shot requiring physically simulated liquid needs a fluid-simulation workflow. For complex scenes, use solid view while shaping, reduce viewport particle/detail settings and check target collections around transparent third-party objects.
Getting started: open the supplied project, save a working copy and select an example object to explore its modifier. For clean imports, make Standalone Waterfall Items available in the Outliner and append the required object. Follow the written guide alongside the silent recordings.
