Build a roof pattern around the tile you want to use. 3D Tudor Roof Tiles Generator is a native Blender Geometry Nodes product with two workflows: Flat and Pitched, and Dome and Spire. Both accept your own prepared tile objects or collections, with controls for layout, fitting and variation.
Use the supplied tile designs to explore the setup, then substitute custom sources for the architectural style your scene needs. The examples include pitched timber roofs and a conical tower roof.
Flat and pitched roof placement
Adjust tile amount, horizontal and vertical overlap, row offset and surface clearance. Separate edge overhangs refine the roof outline. Automatic seating, manual rotation and variation settings help you tune how the pattern sits on the prepared roof surface.
Dome and spire shaping
Set radius, height and midpoint width for a dome, or enable Spire for a straight-sided conical roof. Refine upper rows with Top Tile Size, use Dome Crown Fit to taper the dome crown, and add a cap object with independent radius and offset.
Included files
- Setups.blend: seven prepared roof examples, twelve clean source tiles across Wood, Stone and Ceramic, and an eleven-object Ceramic Damage Mix.
- Examples.blend: three building compositions demonstrating the roof workflows.
- Packed 1024 × 1024 base-colour, normal and roughness maps for the three tile materials.
- Getting Started guide in HTML and Markdown.
- Six silent MP4 demonstrations: three building turntables plus full flat/pitched, dome/spire and material-control recordings.
Custom tiles and materials
Flat/pitched tiles use local X for width, Y for uphill direction and Z for thickness. Collection members need matching local origins, orientations and approximate sizes. The guide explains the differing horizontal-overlap conventions in the two generators. Check tile intersections and edge coverage after substituting a source.
The supplied compatible shaders provide tint, contrast, per-tile colour variation, roughness, normals, edge wear, AO colour, moss and UV controls. Replacement materials need their own setup; edge wear is intended for Cycles.
Compatibility and scope
Inspected in Blender 5.1.2 with Cycles. Packed images and localized library helpers make the customer files portable. No add-on installation is required. Earlier versions and other render engines have not been verified. Building meshes are supplied examples, not procedurally generated architecture.

Extract Blender Files and Guide, open START HERE, then explore the seven roofs in the Setups file. The separate Silent Demonstrations ZIP contains the full local recordings.
Gallery notes
The pitched timber building shows overlapping roof tiles; the round tower demonstrates a conical layout with a separate cap. The Setups view compares seven roof examples. The source-mesh view shows Wood, Stone and Ceramic tile shapes that can serve as references for your own custom objects and collections.
