Blender to Unreal Animation Exporter
Blender to Unreal Animation Exporter is a practical pipeline add-on for artists, technical artists, and indie developers who need to move characters, animations, FBX files, materials, textures, collision, and Unreal PhysicsAssets from Blender to Unreal Engine with fewer manual import steps.
The tool is designed for character animation workflows: import a base skeletal mesh once, then send separate animation FBX files into Unreal as AnimSequence assets using the same Skeleton. It also supports full Blender scenes, selected objects, single FBX files, complete FBX folders, shared skeleton animation imports, and UCX collision helpers for static meshes.
Main features:
- Export selected Blender objects or full scenes
- Send single FBX files or full FBX folders to Unreal
- Import character folders with separate animation files
- Use a shared Unreal Skeleton for animation-only imports
- Detect common character package folder structures
- Import related textures and build basic Unreal material setups
- Support BaseColor, Normal, Roughness, Metallic, AO, Specular, and Emission maps
- Generate optional UCX box collision helpers for static meshes
- Request PhysicsAsset creation for skeletal mesh imports
- Includes a local Unreal Python bridge, PDF manual, installation guide, FAQ, and support checklist
The add-on is especially useful for animation packs, skeletal mesh characters, game-ready assets, and Blender-to-Unreal production workflows where repeated manual FBX importing becomes slow and error-prone.
Requirements:
- Blender 4.5 or newer
- Unreal Engine 5.5 or newer
- Unreal Python Editor Script Plugin enabled
- Windows is the primary tested platform
Blender and Unreal communicate locally through localhost. No files are uploaded online.
