Tender (English tender, from attender - "attendant")[1] or cutter (from English cutter) - a type of sailing equipment: a single-masted vessel with oblique sails, which has a staysail and a cleaver. Modern tenders are a type of yacht. In the era of the sailing navy, a tender was a single-masted auxiliary vessel with a displacement of 50-60 tons, armed with 10-12 small-caliber guns. The word "tender" was borrowed from English in the 19th century.
