Some parts have been UV mapped, but most haven't.
- Based mainly on plans and reference of the HMS Leopard, with a few other sources mixed in. Leopard was a 50-gun Portland-class fourth rate of the Royal Navy, completed in 1790. She served during the French Revolutionary and Napoleonic Wars.
- Built to scale (Scale cube included at the origin).
- A lot of repeating parts are instanced around the ship, making global modifications easier.
- Comes with labelled collections which can be turned on and off to open/close the Gunports and deploy/retract the Cannons.
- Lettering on the ship's stern is a text object which can be easily edited in Blender to display any name you like.
- Includes three different sail configurations.
- Includes three different classes of rowboat - 25 Foot Cutter, 29 Foot Launch & 32 Foot Pinnace.
- Includes all textures, some originals (and higher res versions if needed) can be found on the ambientCG website.
Please note I'm a concept artist, not a skilled 3D modeller or historian (or a sailor haha). While I tried to work closely to reference, much of the geo might not necessarily be "clean" or 100% historically accurate...but for concept art/illustrations I think it works great!
I find the best way to work with this model is to import a linked version of the "HMS_Leopard_Full" collection into a fresh blend file, so the whole ship can be manipulated as a single object. If you want to make any changes to the ship, you can make them in the original file and then just refresh the linked version in your working scene. Make sure to hit the exclude check box and turn off visibility toggles in the original file for any collections you don't want to show up in the linked version. I also tend to link the ship and the sails separately, so I can have different sail configs on different ships.
This model can be used in your personal or professional work, but you cannot resell this model or any part of this model.
If you purchase and use this model in your concepts, attribution or credit to me isn't required but is appreciated : )
Thanks so much for the support!
