Shadows by the Fountain

This digital painting is a visual companion to my flash fiction piece, Shadows by the Fountain, a Tarot-inspired story of love, betrayal, and mystery. Set in an enchanted garden at twilight, the artwork captures the haunting atmosphere of the story’s pivotal moment: when secrets are revealed under the star-lit sky by an ancient stone fountain.

The swirling, dreamlike sky blends deep purples, blues, and ethereal whites, embodying the otherworldly tension and magic in the air. The fountain, rendered in dark blues and blacks, rises up like a spectral figure, its shadow casting hints of movement and life. A ghostly silhouette stands near the fountain, suggesting an unseen presence—perhaps the story’s watchful bride or an embodiment of her inner turmoil.
