Remeshing and Extracting Tools for Zbrush

Hello everyone! I would like to present you my personal go-to set of tools for Remeshing and extracting meshes inside of Zbrush!

There are several tools in the pack to aid and speed up your time inside of Zbrush in regards to some tasks like retopology, extracting meshes or adding thickness to objects.

The thickness tools:

• I have made several presets for mesh thickness going from 0.001 to 0.006 in increments. The thickness presets have been tested on several default Zbrush models along with mine as well and provides great results from thin to thick panels, although if your scale is off, you can receive some unwanted results so make sure to check that!
• We also have 2 choices of loops amounts for the thickness, either no center loop on the border or 1 with a bevel elevation to make it look more rounded for when we Subdivide.
• The final button is a quick apply button for the Panel Loops function which applies the aforementioned settings.

The extracting tools:

• We have 3 buttons which do similar things but depending on your situation, you could try and switch between the 3.
• ExtractWithNewPGs creates a new object from a predefined mask, Remeshes it and Auto Groups the separate panels, if the mask is touching in 2 panels then it will have the same PG.
• ExtractWithOldPGs creates a new object but uses the Polygroups from the source object it has been extracted from.
• ExtractWithThick creates a new object, uses the Polygroups from the source object and applies a predefined thickness of 0.002

The remeshing tools:

• Here we have 4 buttons which perform similar tasks but depending on the situation, you decide which one to use.
• ZRMdefaultPG Zremeshes the object while preserving the Polygroups but keeps the default topology value of 5 with the "Adapt" setting.
• ZRMhalfPG Zremeshes the object while preserving the Polygroups but halves the topology count from the source object.
• ZRMsamePG Zremeshes the object while preserving the Polygroups but tries to keep the topology count roughly the same as the source object.
• RetryRemesh is the default "Retry" button in the Zremesher settings panel which lets you retry your initial Zremesh on the source or updated topology model.

• A good way to use the tools is in conjunction with eachother. For example you can quickly extract a mesh and then use the "ZRMhalfPG" option to halve the topology if it's too dense for your liking or "ZRMsamePG" to make another Zremesher pass and finally play with the thickness values and apply Panel Loops so it's ready for sculpting.

• The macro scripts have been made on Zbrush 2023 so I am unsure for backwards compatibility, especially for the "Retry" button since it was newly introduced.

Installation: Copy the folder inside of your "Macros" folder which is located in: Zbrush/ZStartup/Macros

For even easier use, you can place the buttons in your interface or custom UI.
