HardEdges (Blender Addon)

This addon is designed to streamline the process of marking seams, marking sharp edges, UV unwrapping, and automatically packing your UVs—all with minimal effort and fewer clicks. It simplifies the task by handling the most obvious seams and sharp edges, leaving you with only a few areas that may require additional attention. Cylinders are an inevitable problem, which is why the "Seam Only" button exists. However, for hardsurface models with booleans, this addon offers a nearly one-click solution to get you started with your UVs.

Usage:

UV Margin: Distance between UV islands

Method: Conformal, Angle Based, Minimum Stretch - method blender utilizes to unwrap. conformal is recommended for boolean objects.

Edge angle slider: realtime seam/sharp marking

Auto Unwrap: toggle realtime unwrap

Auto Weights: toggle realtime face normal weights

Auto Smooth: toggle smooth faces on/off

Mark: Manually mark a missing hard edge

Clear: Manually clear an edge that was automatically tagged that wasnt needed.

Only Seam: mark only seam without sharp (good for cylinders)
