I got inspired by the creation process of these, I worked out methods to easily create custom patterns both procedurally and manually. My goal is to save you some valuable production time and provide insight on how to set these up most efficiently :)
I'm providing 2 versions of each pattern, soft and sharp. Soft patterns are meant to be used with gradient ramps in any 3D or 2D package, it lets you control color balance, height and everything else easily, you can also use these as displacements easily. The sharp version is aimed at 2D graphic design or just faster iterating without changing any parameters / adjusting gradient maps.
Most patterns were made in Substance Designer using a custom method / node group for iterating quickly, the default "Reaction Diffusion Fast" function provides boring poor results.
I started my experimenting in Photoshop doing these patterns manually and very quickly I wanted to experiment with Voronoi noise and different generators, so I had to go for Substance Designer :)
You can use entirely custom images, graphic layouts or even custom text if you get the substance nodes.
