This tutorial shows the process for creating a low poly tree, intended for games or concept art.
I begin by sculpting the tree in Zbrush while going over brush techniques and design.
We then export and bring the model into Blender, creating a low poly model. I explain some very useful tips on how to automatically reduce polycount.
The model is brought into Rizom UV to create very quick and efficient auto UV's.
With the UV'd object, I then go into Substance Painter. Here I bake the High to Low poly along with all the maps I use for procedural texturing. I explain some tricks for using the baked maps to create the texture.
Really quick we paint some leaf textures in Photoshop.
Then everything is assembled in Blender. I show how to use particles to spawn leaf clusters on just the branches of the tree.
