This node is an extremely powerful and versatile tool for creating crack patterns for your substances. It will help you to save a lot of time and get good looking results with less effort. It is useful for different art styles from realistic to cartoony. With 20+ presets you have plenty of starting points. Either use the Basics UI if you just want to tweak some sliders to fit your needs or use the Advanced UI if you want to dig in deep.
Albeit this node was conceptualized as purely a cracks generator it turned out so versatile that it can be used to create much more then that, for example tiles, sediments, erosion, even pebbles!
Be aware that this node is not light weight. Computation time is quite high (600-900ms for 2k), but keep in mind that it saves a large node graph and will be used for visualy important features of your substances.
The Cracks Generator works very well in conjunction with my Blur/Polish node (also available from the store) to further modulate and filter the cracks afterwards.
The node outputs a heightmap as well as several masks that can help you with coloring or blending in additional details.
The node was created with Substance Designer 2020.1.2 and should work with this and later versions.
