This is a realistic HD 3D tortoise model I sculpted and textured in
It represents Hermann's tortoise.
Model consists of 290k polys with mirrored elements.
It has 18 subtools/objects when all elements are mirrored.
This 3ds max scene has shaded model with all materials prepared in the material editor and assigned to their designated objects.
There are 45 texture maps total. Maps are a mix of 8k and 4k textures.
Shell, forelimbs/head and hind limbs/tail are unwrapped in a multitile fashion.
There are two models in the scene, one posed and one neutral T pose model for rigging.
Primarily, this asset is intended for cgi and vfx environment, less so for real time graphics and game engines.
Model is fully unwrapped.
In terms of shaders and rendering it is prepared to work with Corona 1.7 or higher and 3DS Max 2016 and higher.
If other render engine is used the materials and textures will have to be re-created/re-assigned.
Good supplement to this 3DS Max scene is a HD Zbrush model with all the subdivisions and UVWs.
Whether you'd want to push this model further in terms of details and realism by adding more micro details, flaked shell and scales, damage or whatever else may be required or you'd simply like to 3d print it. This additional HD Zbrush model is also available on my artstation products page.
> IMPORTANT <
Three background/accessories assets were removed from the scene.
These assets were used to render out image with tortoise, yellow porcelain bowl and salad.
If you want to render identical scene you'll have to get these assets in the following places because I'm not allowed to sell them with my model.
HDRI map which can be downloaded for free on the following link:
- HDRI Haven - Free asset - Woods - https://hdrihaven.com/hdri/?c=nature&h=woods
Megascans pbr textures used for wooden floor and the salad leafs in the bowl on the following links.
- Megascans asset - Free asset (subject to change) - Floor Wooden Beach Decking - https://quixel.com/assets/tbykeacs
- Megascans asset - cost 1 point - Fiddle Leaf Fig - https://quixel.com/assets/sdsjdgdh2
Take a look into material editor and you'll find all three empty material slots still there.
Upon getting these assets simply drop texture files into corresponding empty slots and you're ready to render identical scene.
But I do encourage experimenting and using different HDRI maps, rigging and putting the tortoise into different environments and situations.
That is the real purpose of this model.
