Job Description

As part of the Technical Art, Rigging team, you’ll create, improve, and maintain rigs for characters and props. In addition to character rig generation you’ll own tool creation and maintenance for all other art disciplines. Working closely with animation, modeling and concept teams, you’ll uncover new ways to improve workflow and ensure functionality, consistency, and quality. Whether your support style resembles Sona’s softer side or Thresh’s aggressive hooks, you’ll be the carry behind the carry, helping hoist up the art teams on the strength of your rigs and tools.

  • A Maya Michelangelo: you’ve developed an advanced understanding of rigging, especially using Autodesk Maya
  • Creatively systematic: your rigs are as intricate as the inner workings of a Great Steam Golem and you enjoy building complex systems; you approach problems like puzzles, always looking for creative solutions—even if they don’t match the box art
  • Experienced: after working as a rigger in the games industry, you’ve acquired more experience in engines and rigs than a long-haul trucker; working with scripting languages like Python and C++ has helped you understand game animation, character anatomy and modeling topology especially as it applies to deformation
  • Team-oriented: you spam “fill or feed” in champion select because you know the success of the team is more important than your overwhelming desire to play Poppy; you actively look to support your teammates by donning your mentor cap to help them grow and develop as artists
  • A gamer: you’ve been playing games since the dark days of dial-up, especially League of Legends; you grok the art style and how it compares to other games
