Brown Bag Films, Dublin Studio is currently looking for our next Assistant Online Editor / Junior Compositor in our Post Production team!

About the role:
Brown Bag Films are seeking to recruit an Assistant Online Editor/Junior Compositor to join our growing Online Department. This is an amazing opportunity for the successful candidate to work in an exciting environment on a children’s TV series for top international clients. We will build this position around the candidate’s current expertise, be it Nuke, Fusion, or Flame Assist. The job’s primary focus will be compositing; however, it also includes additional assisting responsibilities to support the Online Editors in general. This role also represents an invaluable opportunity for the candidates to train in Autodesk Flame and expand their compositing skillset.
Skills & Requirements
Responsibilities will include
- Primarily completing a large volume of compositing, FX and QC tidy-up fixes
- Conforming episodes into Autodesk Flame (we will provide training)
- General assisting duties in support of the Online Editors as well as workflow and file management before, during, and after the Online Edit
- Having detailed knowledge of Brown Bag’s Online Editing admin system and monitoring episodes progress, and anticipating any potential issues in advance
- Exporting files for delivery, grade, mix, and client approval. Archiving of Autodesk Flame and Nuke projects
- Clearly prioritising, handling, backing up, and archiving own work as well as keeping up-to-date with emerging broadcast technologies, workflows, and delivery formats
- Excellent time management and clear communication to the team at all times. Closely working with the Online Manager, Online Editors, Online Assistants, and others in Post Production including QC, Post Supervisors, and Post Coordinators
Knowledge, skills and experience
- 1-2 years experience working as a Compositor in the Film, TV, Animation, or Games industries
- Skilled in any of the following: Nuke, Fusion, or Flame Assist
- Skilled in combining various compositing techniques such as painting, rotoscoping, keying, tracking, etc.
- Have a keen eye for detail, and be precise and diligent when completing tasks
- Ground-breaking ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Must be a proactive problem-solver, identifying potential issues before they arise as well as an excellent communicator, listener, and quick learner
- Must have a good understanding of the purpose of Online Editing within Post Production
- To meet business requirements, hours given each week may be outside core business hours of 9:00-5:30
- A basic skills test may be set as part of the recruitment process
Beneficial prior experience - preferred but not essential
- Experience with Autodesk Flame as well as with HDR and 4K/UHD
- Experience working with Online Editors and/or conforming as well as working offsite through remote technologiesExperience working in a QC capacity with expertise in file formats, and experience in an Animation/CG pipeline
All applicants must be eligible to work in Ireland and are currently based in Ireland!
During COVID-19 restrictions, the successful candidate will first start remotely and then require being in the Dublin studio full-time when restrictions are removed.
