Job Description

As a Senior Artist at Carbonated, you’re passionate about entertaining audiences with creativity, technology and gameplay and aspire to be an Art Director someday soon. You want to define the visual aesthetic of all our games and lead the creative culture of our studio, from our website to presos to the art on the walls. Since we’re still growing, we need someone who can make the world, character, textures and when done, light and animate the whole scene! You’ll wear many hats, perhaps even a manager or mentor hat, but at the end of the day, you’re a doer, like us.

Skills & Requirements

You’ve spent hundreds of hours honing your artistic skills - degrees are nice but portfolios speak volumes

  • You’re at your best when working with others. You’re not afraid to speak up, take critique, or push for and take charge of something you passionately believe in

  • You’re someone who wants to take creative risks and enjoys finding clever solutions to difficult problems

  • You’re skilled with all of the artist arsenal, from Maya & Max, Photoshop & Illustrator, to Substance Painter & Designer

  • You’re a passionate gamer yourself and understand how the aesthetic and fiction of a game can be just as impactful as the core game loop

How to Apply

About the Company

Carbonated is a mobile entertainment studio based in El Segundo, CA (5 min south of LAX near the beach!). The company was founded by industry veterans who’ve built and run some of the biggest games in the world at companies like EA, Sony, Zynga and Blizzard.

Our focus is on talent and attitude. Sure, experience is a plus, but that’s only a small part of what makes a great contributor, great.  We’re always learning and experimenting together and focused on delivering something we can all be proud of.

Right now we’re fortunate enough to be working on our dream game, a big real-time social pvp battler (think if The Division had a baby with Eve Online) with lots of fun twists, and looking for driven and talented folks who love playing and building games as much as us.
