Senior Lecturer/Lecturer – Computer Science (Games Development)
Senior Lecturer £41,526 to £49,553/Lecturer £33,797 to £40,322 per annum
We are seeking to appoint a Senior Lecturer/Lecturer with the skills and experience to join our team of dedicated Games staff to teach on BSc (Hons) Games development. The successful candidate will possess a comprehensive knowledge of the technical and creative demands of games development, with demonstrable skills in software engineering, programming (C++, Python) and mathematics, with a games development background and experience of/commitment to learn Unreal Engine 4 / Blueprint Visual Scripting. You will be able to bring your knowledge and experience of industry standards to the requirements for undergraduate study on BSc awards that are clearly focused on preparing students for professional employment. Experience of VR/XR or Technical Animation/Rigging would be additionally valuable. At Senior Lecturer appointment you will clearly possess demonstrable excellent communication, organisation and management skills and be a highly driven team player.
Skills & Requirements
You will have the ability to deliver technical skills to undergraduate students in a creative, engaging and imaginative way, through project-based learning, with the experience to deliver workflow pipelines from inception to deployment. Candidates will be able to deliver and develop innovative learning and teaching strategies including on-line materials and blended learning, combined with an ability to work closely with a variety of internal and external stakeholders. The post involves preparation for and delivery of tutorials, workshops, demonstrations, lectures, critiques, assessments and seminars. You will also be enthusiastic about collaboration, working in particular with our award winning BA (Hons) Games Art and Design course.
