Job Description

Cityscape Digital are looking for someone with a proven history of leading projects within the built environment sector and is able to work independently, as well as lead a small team of artists and developers. You will lead in creating Realtime and Virtual Reality experiences for the property development and architectural industries; work ranging from rapid, live design prototyping to fully photoreal VR marketing experiences.

Roles and Responsibilities

Creative

Show exceptional visual talent; set the creative standard for the studio

Ability to render Photoreal; knowledge of how light behaves, scientifically and artistically

Look for own creative inspiration and build this into workflow, making bold creative choices and seeing them through

Technical

Demonstrate thorough knowledge of Unreal Engine and be able to define and refine workflows and production processes, as well demonstrating as a keenness to discover new features and innovative methods

Show familiarity with digital twins and development models

Seeks to standardise and automate tasks where possible

Leadership + Training

Mentor other staff, both creatively and technically; we believe in people training people

Adopt a leadership position in the studio; others will look to you for advice and guidance Lead team critiques and seek critique of own work from peers

Client + Project management

Take ownership of projects, assisting Project Managers with estimating timescales and quoting projects

Able to manage a number of projects at any one time, while being both hands on in production and overseeing other team members’ work

Work and negotiate directly with clients, including facilitation meetings and workshops

Design solutions for projects that achieve our clients’ goals

Develop relationships with clients, architects and external parties; run meetings and resolve conflict

Expected to attend client meetings fully prepared and engage with parties in attendance; as well as facilitation (setting up, attending and running) of showcases.

Responsible for full appraisal of all project information before commencing on a project; assess holes and errors, identify and flag these.

Skills & Requirements

Required Experience

Senior/lead artist experience.

Able to prove history of producing AEC projects

People from different (games/Vfx) backgrounds will be considered provided they show experience in creating photoreal work and realtime solutions.

Experience leading a team

Essential Skills

Blueprints visual scripting

Able to read architectural plans and drawings, and interpret CAD models (or extreme willingness to adopt this skill)

High standard of personal efficiency in Unreal and 3D

Good knowledge of UE4 including Lighting, texturing and environment creation

3DS Max modelling

Strong verbal and written communication skills; able to interact with other staff and external parties

Excellent attention to detail

Excellent organisational skills

Strong presentation skills

Desirable Skills

Scripting languages (C++ or Python)

Previous experience using Perforce

Knowledge of UK planning processes

Knowledge or awareness of GIS software and processes
