Role Summary

The Creative Development Producer is responsible for building, nurturing and managing creative talent partnerships for MSG Sphere, working under the direction of the VP Creative Development. The role is highly relationship-focused, and requires a strategic and pragmatic approach to building mutually beneficial relationships that ensure we are delivering the world’s best immersive experiences for visitors to the Sphere. The benchmark is world class, with a strong leading edge of story, interaction and spectacle.

The role will involve not only talent relations but producing and management of multiple work streams with our partners and integrating into MSG Sphere Studios productions team. The role is responsible for developing optimized processes for Creative Development and ensuring there are tangible and trackable outcomes to relationship building and creative development for Sphere. This position also serves as a creative advisor across multiple MSG divisions as stakeholders in the Sphere.

The position requires an entrepreneurial mindset with a proven track record of talent relations, a trusted network of innovators and bold creative visionaries alongside knowledge of production at scale. Proficiency in the technologies that drive the workflow and delivery of world class creative projects is highly valuable in this role. This role requires excellent interpersonal skills, both verbal and written, with clearly demonstrated strategic execution and delivery of immersive projects with creative talent.

Specific Functions/Activities Summary

  • Accountability for talent development relationships for Sphere under the leadership of VP Creative Development. This includes managing talent relationships for multiple simultaneous projects and overseeing relevant budget management.
  • Build healthy and successful relationships between external creative talent and our Experience & Design and Productions teams.
  • Build relationships, negotiate and partner with a strong global network of artists, production designers and the teams required to develop and deliver immersive projects.
  • Oversee and guide the external talent to ensure quality and caliber of all relevant deliverables through the full lifecycle of projects
  • Advocate for best practices, comfortably challenge where needed and provide alternative approaches and solutions.
  • Have your finger on the pulse of the emerging technologies that feed creative and immersive production and be able to partner with technology teams to ensure best-in-class solutions.

Skills & Requirements

  • 10+ years’ experience within creative digital, interactive and immersive production and physical activations, with 5+ years in either a production or account director role.
  • Established roots in the industry and deep relationships across all relevant industry sectors and with 3rd party vendors to ensure the best partnerships are utilized for our projects.
  • Proficiency with a range of project management tools (e.g. Shotgun, TeamGantt, etc).
  • Domain knowledge of Commercial, Film and VFX markets alongside core experiential knowledge.
  • Minimum of ten years experience within Creative Immersive Production with associated digital, interactive and creative technology production with 5 years in a senior role with accountability for large scale projects. Extensive prior experience leading creative, production and technology teams on new project briefings, pitch development and production through delivery.
  • Must have strong leadership skills, the ability to inspire and motivate a large diverse workforce based in multiple locations.
  • Must be creative and have a well-developed sense of storytelling.
  • Must have exceptional communication and presentation skills. Can clearly represent creative goals, technology strategy and requirements.
  • Must have excellent collaboration skills and instincts and be able to work as a partner with multiple stakeholders across the MSG business.
  • Demonstrated responsibility for budgets and the financial well-being of past projects, as well as strong negotiation and analytical skills.
  • Must have passion and enthusiasm for all things immersive and an affinity for MSG Sphere.
  • Must be able to travel for the role when required.

Education

Candidates who have completed 60 credits of college-level coursework (representing 2 years), or have shown similar self-development through certifications, trade school coursework, etc. are preferred.
