Job Description

Respawn Entertainment is a AAA game development studio that was founded in 2010 by former co-founders of Infinity Ward and creators of the multi-billion dollar Call of Duty and Modern Warfare franchises. In 2017, Respawn was acquired by Electronic Arts, a leading global interactive entertainment publisher. We have shipped Titanfall and Titanfall 2 to critical acclaim, and are currently hiring for our Star Wars ™, Titanfall, and Unannounced VR game development teams. Our motto is gameplay first, and the opportunity to create groundbreaking games with some of the best developer talent in the industry awaits our future team members.

We're looking for a highly skilled Dynamics Artist who will embrace our philosophy and share his/her hard earned expertise to create an incredible experience for our players. We’re picturing someone who is passionate about world-building and experienced in creating high-quality, in-game environment dynamics (destruction, particle effects, etc.)

What you’ll do...

  • Break up environment geometry and run Maya dynamics/Fracture FX/PDI dynamic simulations of their destruction.
  • Preserve existing UV information and generate new UV's as needed after fragmenting the geometry.
  • Set up objects for real-time destructibility using PhysX Physics and Destruction.
  • Placement and creation of particles for destructible objects and other effects.
  • Ensure that dynamic effects run within established game-engine operating parameters, and scaling level of detail as needed to accomplish this.
  • Implement physics simulations into Unreal Engine using Blueprints.
  • Work in other disciplines in down-time, such as prop modeling, texturing, or particles.
  • Provide feedback to tools programmers and coordinate efforts with other dynamic artists to streamline methods and improve efficiency.
  • Work closely with designers to fine-tune the timing of complex interactive dynamic effects.
  • Create cloth motion simulations, and fine-tune them for aesthetic effect.
  • Coordinate with Environment Artists to seamlessly integrate dynamic effects into environments.

**This position is a temporary assignment to start, with potential for longer term employment. Working hours are full time and onsite at our studio in Chatsworth, CA. (Relocation is not offered for this position.)**
