Job Description

Your Mission

Infinity Ward is currently seeking a Senior Foliage Artist in the Woodland Hills, CA area.

Priorities can often change in a fast-paced environment like ours, so this role includes, but is not limited to, the following responsibilities:   

  • Create realistic models and textures of various vegetation and foliage
  • Work with scanned vegetation and capturing scans of vegetation
  • Work closely with Art Direction and Map Leads to define biomes and identify a vegetation roster
  • Work closely with Tech Art to support new tools, features, workflows
  • Identify and troubleshoot foliage to stay within frame rate, memory, and design specifications
  • Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed

Skills & Requirements

Player Profile

Minimum Requirements:

  • 5+ years experience in games, modeling/texturing environments and foliage using Maya, or related experience/software
  • 3-4 years experience working with SpeedTree
  • Strong understanding of form, shape, structure, and silhouette in regards to modeling
  • Significant experience and techniques in the creation of trees, plants, shrubs, and vines using cards/flats
  • Strong technical capability ensuring assets fit memory, design, and frame rate limitations
  • Strong polygonal modeling skills, creating clean and efficient geometry quickly
  • Self-motivated, independent and ability to self-manage to meet deadlines with minimal direction
  • Communicate effectively, proactively updating stakeholders with information and assets, knows when to ask for help

Software Knowledge:

  • 3D modeling package (Maya Preferred), Photoshop, Zbrush, Substance Suite, Marvellous Designer, Photogrammetry capture/processing
