3D Artist - Generalist
We are currently seeking an experienced full-time, 3D Artist, to collaborate with our existing team on assets for an upcoming game title. The ideal candidate will be skillful in creating a variety of assets and have a strong artistic eye. Furthermore, the artist should be comfortable with a technical pipeline involving different tools along with a proprietary in-house engine. Overall, this candidate must be passionate about contributing to the creation of video game experiences beyond simply creating assets. This is a salaried, full-time position at our Plymouth, Michigan office.
Skills & Requirements
Primary Responsibilities Include:
Produce high quality game ready assets (organic and hard surface props, as well as vegetation) according to design specs, technical requirements and 3D best practices.
Create both tileable and unique textures using Photoshop, Substance Painter and Substance Designer.
Coordinate with the games team and outsourcing to ensure the project’s visual and technical standards are achieved.
Create consistent, stylized artwork from concept/research to finalized asset.
Education and/or Experience Desired:
5+ Years experience creating 3D art as displayed in visual portfolio.
3+ Years professional experience creating 3D art for games.
Proficient with standard industry tools such as: ZBrush, Substance Designer, Substance Painter, Photoshop, 3D Studio Max/Maya, Speedtree.
Strong grasp of color, form, value, composition, environmental storytelling and motion.
Experience working in a PBR asset creation pipeline.
Well developed communication, teamwork and collaboration skills.
Degree or certification in 3D art, digital art, or related discipline.
Experience working on a game with a proprietary engine.
High level experience creating substances in Substance Designer.
High level of confidence in environmental modelling.
High level of understanding of organic shapes, as well as real world materials.
Experience creating vfx for games.
Experience working on a strategy game.
2D art skills.
