Job Description
ASC is seeking a hardworking character artist to help realize our character designs. The job will require working closely with designers and engineers to create visually stunning game characters and creatures. These characters would mostly be used in high-end cinematics rendered in engine.
Responsibilities
- Work with the Art Director and Character team to develop final assets based off initial concept designs and sculpts
- Work with engineers to maintain good performance on all next-gen platforms
- Communicate effectively with the team to fulfill the visual goals of game assets
Skills & Requirements
Requirements
- Outstanding portfolio that demonstrates expertise in modeling, including hard surface and organic assets
- Can look-dev in engine and is familiar with shader work in Unreal
- Experience modeling and texturing using Maya, Zbrush and Substance Painter
- Proficiency in current generation production workflows as they pertain to character art production
- Strong understanding of PBR workflow
- Ability to create and manipulate texture maps with a good understanding of efficient UV layout
Preferences
- Strong traditional art foundations: including but not limited to figure drawing, concept art and illustration
- A passion for games and film
- Shipped one or more major titles on current next-gen platforms/PC platforms as a Character Artist
- Experience with cinematics a big plus
- Experience source control and asset tracking tools such as Perforce and Shotgun a plus but can teach this if necessary
